Chamomile Maroc (Ormenis multicaulis)
Location: Found in North West Africa, Spain and Israel.
Extraction: Steam distilled from the flowers.
Colour & Odour: The maroc is pale yellow in colour. It has a rich, warm, distinctive fruity smell with undertones reminiscent of over-ripe apples.
Description: Chamomile maroc is an aromatic, herbaceous plant with daisy-like yellow flowers.
Background: The maroc is the most recent addition to the Chamomile essential oil family. It contains less Azulene than the Roman and the German and has become popular because it is the most reasonably priced of the three.
Properties: Emollient, Carminative, sedative, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory.
Digestive System-Can help to improve the appetite. Can help to relieve vomiting caused by gastritis and heartburn.
Skeletal System-Beneficial for painful arthritic joints.
Skin-Good for dry, sensitive or red skin; useful for skin eruptions such as dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis, acne or rashes. Also an excellent remedy for inflamed wounds, sores, scarring and burns. Children-Chamomile is a safe remedy for all sorts of children's problems such as colic, diarrhoea and even tantrums.
