Lavender Essential Oil (Lavendula Officinalis)

From the flowers. Lavender essential oil is the most used and talked about of all essential oils. It is an excellent skin rejuvenator, is antiseptic and used for the benefit of all skin types.

This versatile oil is balancing, soothing, restful, calming and blends well with all other essential oils. It has a sweet and slightly heady aroma.

Uses:     Blend each recipe to 25ml of base oil.

Urinary System - Beneficial for cystitis

Urinary Blend: Lavender 6 drops/Sandalwood 4 drops/Juniper 2 drops

Circulatory system - Lavender essential oil is valuble in the treatment of palpitations and high blood pressure

Circulatory Blend: Lavender 7 drops/Ylang Ylang 3 drops/Melissa 2 drops

Respiratory system - Beneficial for treating throat infections, influenza, bronchitis and whooping cough.Helps asthma sufferers when their condition is associated with mental or emotional trauma.

Respiratory system: Lavender 6 drops/Benzoin 4 drops/Cedarwood 2 drops

Reproductive system - Useful in treating scanty menstruation and leucorrhoea.

Reproductive Blend: Lavender 6 drops/Sandalwood 4 drops/Rose 3 drops

Nervous system - Calms a variety of nervous disorders including excitability, insomnia, migraine and nervous tension.Lavender is also good for other nervous problems such as panic and hysteria.Particularly good for depression.

Muscular system - Good for muscular and rheumatic aches and pains.

Muscular Blend: Lavender 7 drops/Coriander 3 drops/Nutmeg 3 drops

Skin - An excellent skin rejuvenator, good for stretch marks.It is an antiseptic and may be used with benefit on all skin types.Useful for inflamation, dermatitus, eczema,scarring and burns.Lavender is a very effective remedy for sunburn, insect bites and stings.
